Zoey continues to improve. She's nearly off of both of the pain-killers she's on as they have to ween her off carefully to avoid damage & addiction. She continues to get rid of the edema with great urination & is looking even better than yesterday. She continues to be getting all her nutrition from the supplements they're giving her and is still at least a week out from being able to get milk again. Her surgery ports are still looking good & we were there when the surgeon resident stopped by to get a look at her & continued to be pleased with the sites. The neo-natal doctor on this weekend, who has done a majority of her lines, was so pleased you could tell he was tempted to remove her breathing tube & extubate & let her go on the c-pap again as her lungs are handling room air & more than adequate breaths per minute. They're going to continue with the tube though for another day so she can continue to focus on the edema & healing.
Sally's high school friend Niki & her father came down & spent the afternoon with Sally as I stayed back at RMH this morning as I wasn't feeling too hot.
